Project-S is stepping into public view with a mission to safeguard space access and exploration. The Munich-headquartered company is developing space-based radar payloads and AI-enabled orbital-intelligence systems intended to improve the detection and tracking of smaller orbital debris and support safer satellite operations.
ESA estimates that roughly 1.2 million debris objects between 1 and 10 centimetres are already in Earth orbit. At orbital speeds, centimetre-class objects can cause catastrophic spacecraft damage.

Backing: Project-S enters this public phase with multi-million-euro backing led by Uni.Fund II, complemented by German federal, Bavarian and ESA-linked public innovation support. Exact financial terms are not disclosed.

Evidence behind the vision: The team has already taken compact radar technology-demonstration hardware from design through assembly, testing and delivery. Further evidence from the ATLAS III programme will follow in the next phase of the launch campaign.
